"Farmer Brown" (Debbie Cutler) runs "The Little Farmyard" here in Perth Western Australia. Debbie has put together the Story of how it all began with the two very special Borderfame Girls "Flash" and "Sally".
Debbie's Story
Fourteen years ago, after my sister and her family had suffered the devastating loss of "Josie"their cross breed best friend, I went to Helena for a new companion to ease the pain that we all know too well. I knew Helena only as a client of the Veterinary Hospital I worked at, and had been drawn to the Border Collie by her beloved "Ruttles".The beautiful pup I presented to Jane was soon named "Flash, and as expected swallowed the family up in her love.
In 1988 Jane started a business venture she named "The Little farmyard", a hands-on education farm for school children in preprimary and year one. it was here that the temperament of the "Borderfame" shone through and Flash became "the wonder dog" on the farm. She was to greet each bus load of children by jumping onto the bus to welcome them to the farm. Then to be always around throughout the visit to be cuddled and to play with each group. More stories of Flash on her own page.
In 1996 I bought the business from Jane and set the farm up on my Forrestdale property, all the animals came with the purchase of course, except "Flash'.Naturally the family was not prepared to part with one of their own,nor would I have asked it of them. So without hesitation, I turned to Helena for a pup to become the new farm dog. My other dogs were a German Shepherd,Bull Terrier and a Whippet none of which would fill the paws of a sheepdog even though they were all of good temperament
It was then that "Sally" became part of my life. When I phoned Helena, she said she only had one bitch in a litter of boys from her beautiful Raver and really wanted to keep her, but as she knew how special this job on the farm was "Sally "came to me on breeding terms, as Helena felt she was special and important to the Borderfame line. How true this has turned out to be. Sally is the most amazing dog and when you read her pages you will understand why.
If it were not for "The Little Farmyard" I would probably not have found the close friendship that I have with Helena. Her devotion to the Border Collie breed in my eyes is unparalleled by any other breeder I have met, and I am proud to be associated with the name Borderfame. her knowledge of the Border collie produces outstanding dogs that compete in many disciplines both here and worldwide, but I admire her most for her dedication to "temperament" first.Every "Borderfame" puppy is a guaranteed best friend to their new owner, their brain has not been compromised for their beauty, and therefore will always bring joy to the lives they touch.
